ABOUT: Nestled within Lifted Spirits Winery & Wellness place, The Hive offers a retreat into the glamorous world of the 1920s, where secrecy and sophistication meet. Our speakeasy is dedicated to providing a unique drinking experience, featuring Unique spirits and an ambiance & mystique that transports guests back in time. We are currently seeking a skilled and charismatic Speakeasy Bartender to work independently and who is passionate about mixology, history, and providing impeccable personal service.

TYPE: Part-time to Full-time (+tips). Most hours will entail evening hours starting at 430 to set up for 5p opening until closing. Extra hours are available on Saturdays and special events.

POSITION DESCRIPTION: As our Speakeasy Bartender, you will be the heartbeat of The Hive; not just preparing drinks, but also curating a memorable experience for our guests. This role requires a mixologist with a flair for storytelling, an eye for detail, and the ability to manage the bar's operations independently. Having a creative spirit and ideas are welcome as we continue to develop The Hive into a special place. This position captures the essence of a speakeasy bartender's role, emphasizing not just the technical skills required but also the personal touch and historical knowledge that set such a position apart. Bartenders may opt or be required to work in the winery as a server when needed or when business is slow in the HIVE.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

- Craft a variety of classic and innovative cocktails with precision and creativity

- Offer personalized service, including recommending drinks based on guests' preferences and engaging in meaningful conversations.

- Manage all aspects of the bar's operation during shifts, including inventory management, ordering supplies, and maintaining cleanliness and organization.

- Create a welcoming and intriguing atmosphere that aligns with the speakeasy theme.

- Handle cash and payment transactions accurately and efficiently.

- Stay informed about the latest trends in mixology, as well as the history of speakeasies and prohibition-era cocktails.

- Ensure compliance with all alcohol regulations and safety standards.

- Host small events or private parties, offering a memorable experience

QUALIFICATIONS

- Proven experience as a bartender, with a strong background in mixology. Experience in a speakeasy or themed bar environment is a plus.

- Exceptional knowledge of cocktail history, preparation techniques, and spirit profiles.

- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage guests in a warm and genuine manner.

- Strong organizational skills and the ability to work efficiently and independently.

- A passion for storytelling and the ability to convey the rich history and ambiance of the speakeasy era.

- Must be of legal age to serve alcohol and have relevant certifications (e.g., Food Safety, Responsible Alcohol Service, liquor commission card).

- Availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays as required by the business.
